We are all hard-wired to feel fear upon stepping into new territory. It assists us by staying alert in an unfamiliar situation.
Yet it’s healthy to recognize that fear doesn’t always mean there’s an actual threat. It can be your ally when guiding you even closer towards your hopes & dreams.
Turning fear into your friend
Do yourself a favour, allow yourself to acknowledge the trigger & the powerful energy it has to halt your progress at the very thought of doing something you fear. Tune into that & use it as your indication guide to DO that very thing that you fear.
Some of my business examples would be: Start a video series (day 1, tick), blog challenge (day 1 tick), write an E-Book, start webinars, podcasts, attend more networking events.
Take a listen to Satori Prime’s informative podcast here to delve in a little deeper.
I am facing a fear as a write this very post for you & start to record a few videos this week! -(no biggie, I hear you say?). Increasing the regularity of my blogs & making videos to document the mind shift from employee to entrepreneur (OR currently stay-at-home Mum to don’t-mess-with-me tigress) is where I fear to move forward, for the most part as I don’t want to do a half-arsed job of either!
Easy to get stuck in a FEAR rut
You could say I’ve been staying busy with everything but the steps that will actually build momentum (and revenue). I am very good at coming up with all the excuses in the world to delay knocking over the very things I know will aid in my business & personal growth.
Where did I Iearn these bad habits? Call it self-sabotage, developed over a period of years & from a variety of life experiences (I don’t think I’m alone on this?) My inner critic would insist I had bitten off more than I could chew. That I was out of my depth to believe I could achieve success by following my dreams.
I am fully on board with the idea that we all have a duty to discover our true purpose and fulfill our greatest potential in both business & life. The only obstacles in our way are the ones we create in our minds.
“Your excuses are just the lies your fears have sold you.” -Robin Sharma
No more procrastinating, as I’m starting to lay the foundation on which to continue with fresh, soul nourishing, positive habits. Giving myself permission to start dreaming again.
As the wise & inspiring Carrie Green, founder of the Female Entrepreneur Association states:
“Turning your ideas into a reality, achieving success, living an extraordinary life is not reserved for a special few – we can all do it, we just have to tap into the power of our mind and program ourselves for success, so that we can make massive progress.”
Your intuition is a gift……use it to discover the pathway to the otherside of your fears, success and all you truly desire.
For it is not the destination, but the journey that you experience via the actions (large or small) you undertake. It is the journey that enriches us with a boost of energy that is essential to growth & courage to push through the fear once & for all. This level of courage will instill a higher resistance to that level to fear.
So roll with the punches, acknowledge when the feeling of fear begins to take its grip, and face it head on. I promise it’ll be worth it.
Here’s to fierce fear busting.
All my best,
